help with garage band

I'm hoping to make a workflow for garage band.
I have a friend with late stage MS who is having problems communicating. We've tried Dragon Dictate but it is too difficult for her. (MS slowly destroys your muscle use among its other debilitating and deadly challenges).
I would like to make a workflow that opens Garage Band and with as few keystrokes as possible allows her to record a message. Then save the recording as a very small file, and then attach the file to an email message which would allow her to reply to a message. FYI - she is essentially unable to type any longer.
Is there any hope of doing this?
I've looked at the library of actions and find none for garage band.
Thanks for your consideration.

Best Regards - paul
