Finding a date...

I have a folder with a large number of files going back a couple of years. They are security camera JPG frames sent to the folder at a rate of about one every 3 seconds. There are typically 28800 files per day being created, but I don't know what the earliest day is in the folder.
Now, before you say "Go into the folder and sort by date", bear in mind that there are over 3 million files in this folder so opening the folder in the Finder is not an option. Automator, however, seems to deal with this just fine. I am able to sort out selected days by a specified date, but I want to make this more automated and keep this folder from growing so huge.
Is there a way I can find the earliest files, i.e what is the earliest creation date and move those? Something like this:
Find earliest creation date
Create and name a folder with that date
Move those files into the folder
Repeat
Until the original folder is empty. And then obviously run this workflow once a week or so.
I'm not seeing an immediate way to do this. Is there a third-party Automator action or am I missing an action that is already built-in?
