All,
I would like to present an IN and an OUT folder on a network share (xserve) to users who can drop pretty much any image file (mostly TIFFs, JPGs, and EPSs), and have Automator: 1) Recognize the image's orientation and resize to a spec, and then save as a JPEG 2) Move resulting file to the Out folder
I have this working, mostly. Sometimes it decides to run, and sometimes it doesn't and just ignores the file dropped into the In folder. The Actions are saved as two Folder Actions attached to the IN folder (one for horizontal images, one for vertical).
Somethings that appear to consistently trip it up: 1) More than one file at a time dropped into the In folder 2) EPS files 3) TIFF files saved with PC encoding
It might fail on a JPEG insertion, and then work just fine on that same JPEG three minutes later when dropped in again (I, in the meantime, having manually killed out the JPEG from IN that it's not touching)
Process: 1) Uses Preview in Automator 2) Utilizes "Filter Images by Orientation" flow 3) Utilizes the "Save for Web" flow
Would anyone have any insight as to why the script wouldn't run 100% all the time?
Thanks,
/timothy
