Challenges with 10.8?

Dear All,
I have several Automator iCal alarms that have been working flawlessly on 10.6.8.
We just upgraded our OS to 10.8.2
:)

Is there someplace I can find documentation of the changes to the interface with iCal, AppleScript, and Automator?

I notice the new alarms I save are now stored in a sub folder named calendar instead of iCal. What's that all about?!
Also, how do I get my folder actions to work again?

Now some of the alarm workflows just hang. Previously I had a couple of AppleScripts I could call directly from an alarm in iCal, now those just open the AppleScripts in the editor.

This is very un-Apple-like. Did they hire a bunch of programmers from Microsoft?
