Ben - I'm new to Automator and to this forum so I hope I've responded in the correct way. Thanks for the script. I've used one or two simple Automator workflows and have never done anything with script so I hope that I can make it work. Your instructions make it seem easy. Maybe it's prudent to try it our on a copy just in case I make a pig's breakfast out of it!

Does anyone know if such a Automator app or workflow is available?

Have you seen my post on TUAW on how to do this with AppleScript?  You could paste the code into an Automator workflow using the Run AppleScript action…

Send Keynote presenter notes to Evernote with AppleScript
http://www.tuaw.com/2012/12/10/send-keynote-presenter-notes-to-evernote-with-applescript/

Good luck!
