Enable automator action with applescript

Dear all, I got a problem when trying to do the following:
I have written an automator workflow which includes an applescript input
dialog whether to choose an option of the workflow or not. This requires
that several actions in the workflow need to be enabled or disabled
(more dialogs, which script to start... eg....) I do this with "tell
Automator action XXX of front workflow to set enabled to false"
All works fine in Automator, but when I run (which is a must) the
Workflow as an app I receive an error that the action containing this
apple script has an error. For sure it´s cause of of the "front
workflow" parameter, but what else has to be used?
Any suggestions?
