Play iTunes Playlist action shuffle option without effect

The option “Shuffle” in the standard Automator action “Play iTunes Playlist” appears to have no effect. Song playback will instead be random or sequential depending on the currently active setting under iTunes -> Controls -> Shuffle, which is unaffected by said Automator action.
Anyone else noticed? Where to report bugs? Workarounds?
