It drives me nuts. I want to automate: Copy a unit (say 28 ℃), ask
Spotlight to convert it, copy the result, enter the result in my text.
Without Automator, this is perfectly simple: Select the unit, ⌘-C to
copy it, ⌘-tab to open Spotlight, ⌘-V to paste the unit, ⌘-C to copy the
result, launch/activate the app with my text, ⌘-V to paste the Spotlight
result.
If I translate this to an Automator Service, things already go wrong
when I paste the original value (that 28 ℃) in Spotlight. An older entry
is still there, and I can't get rid of it, and as a result, I don't get
a err, result....
I can assure you that this is not my first Automator action, so I must
be doing something incredibly stupid. Any idea?
Cheers,
Hans
