Well thanks to that prompting, I went and undid everything I thought I
had needed to do
and the notifications are still showing up so I guess it was a case of
operator error...
Thanks,
Robert.

What setting up did you have to do that fixed the problem? The
default settings should be fine for what you want. One thing to be
aware of is that you do need a run loop in your app (CFRunLoop or
NSRunLoop).

OK, false alarm.
I didn't realize I had to do a bunch of setting up first! :-( Makes
sense, but in my
fevered imagination I thought it would be just plug and play! :-)
I'm getting the notifications now...

I've just received my two IOGear USB Bluetooth adaptors and they're
working fine -
when I use one of the example apps my other computer shows up fine.
However
my monitoring application is not receiving Bluetooth Connect
notifications.
I'm using the Obj-C IOBluetoothDevice class to set up the
notification.
Am I supposed to be able to get the notification even though my app
did not initiate or
receive the connect? This type of thing is working fine for FireWire
and USB...
Thanks,
Robert.
