Lawrence,
Sorry for the delayed reply. This has been sitting in my drafts folder
for far too long. I just finally got guilty enough to track the
remaining answers down...

1. Is it possible to use PacketDecoder2 to observe a conversation
between two devices, not connected to a Mac? [The answer seems to be
no.]
No it is not. The packet logger application just logs data at the USB
interface between connections on that Mac.
2. Do 'X' characters in the trigger for PacketDecoder2 mean don't
care? [Seems like you need to specify a single BT_ADDR/MAC address]
No. The X characters are just intended to show the format of the
trigger. The trigger is just a string of hex data to look for. It is
a rarely used feature, and may have some issues. If you encounter any,
let us know, and we'll get them fixed.
3. Does the Broadcom chip used in the D-Link DWB-120M allow for some
kind of promiscuous mode like with Ethernet, 802.11b, and Firewire so
that all packets can be snooped? Do other chips allow this?
I am not aware of a promiscuous mode on the DWB-120M, but you can check
out this link for a company that does this with a different vendor's
chipset:

There is no Mac version at this time.
4. I have a T68i and Motorola Bluetooth Headset (MBTH). They work
pretty well together. The T68i has a caller name feature where the
name of the caller is announced (if you have recorded the name for
voice dialing) based on caller-id. It even works (almost) with the > MBTH
However, sometimes (often) the caller's name is partially truncated by
a ring tone. Has anyone else tried the T68i with other headsets? In
particular has anyone tried this with any of the Ericsson Headsets
like the HBH-10, HBH-15, HBH-30, or HBH-60.
I have no experience with this.
5. I can use the Address Book to dial my T68i phone. However when I do
that I can't use my MBTH. Is this a know bug? If so, this is too bad
as it was one of the goals for Bluetooth, the so called "Ultimate
Headset". Again, has anyone tried with Ericsson headsets?
This is known, and being looked at.
