That is really a shame if it is not possible to send SMS via OBEX. I
have used the last few days to study OBEX, and I really liked it. And
there is really good support for OBEX in the IOBluetooth.framework. So
when should I then use OBEX for? Is it only good for exchanging vCards
with mobiles?
I studied the "Specification for Ir Mobile Communications (IrMC)", and
there is a chapter "9. Messaging" that I thought was applicable for
SMS. The chapter is of course rather vague as all such specs are
regarding to what it means about Messaging, it could as well be
referring to emails.
The chapter gives an example of how to construct a message object:
BEGIN VMSG
VERSION:1.0
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:2.1
...
I used that as an example, but my T68i ignored it.
Well, I should start studying the RFCOMM specs then. I feel like
falling back to the early days of the PC revolution, where UART's and
serial ports were the way of communicating with other computers.

I don't know if you can send an SMS by using OBEX. The default way
(older..) is to open an RFCOMM connection and send the appropriate AT
commands every modem & cell phone do support. find the at command set
description and examples on sending SMS on the net.
