Is this functionality supported in the bluetooth APIs? I can't find

We have a button on our bluetooth tablets that is designed so that
the
user can press it and it will try to (re)connect to the computer that
it was
most recently connected to.
Once the tablet opens a RFCOMM channel to the computer, we want
the two
to switch roles, and have the computer be the master and the tablet be
a
slave (potentially one of several slaves).
Can I do this without having to manually close the channel and
initiate
a new connection from the computer to the tablet.

There is no public API to do what you want currently. However the host
stack will automatically attempt to switch roles (to become master) on
any new incoming connection. Will that solve your problem, or is there
another issue?
