Communication isn't the problem --- the P800 lights up its screen. It seems to be a permissions or protocol problem, as re-pairing from the phone solves it without having to remove or deactivate any hardware.

Sending of files from the phone to the Mac also works --- it's just the exchange from the Mac to the phone needed for syncing that doesn't go to plan.

There's nothing wrong with Bluetooth; there may be something wrong with SE's implementation of some exchange protocol.

The original poster exhibited similar errors to my
setup, which is why
I recommended the only course of action I knew to
work in my
circumstances.

Try removing and Re-connecting the Bluetooth Card

I get this often with my P800, usually if I've
turned Bluetooth off on
the phone sometime since the last sync.

Re-add the Mac on the phone, enter the
passphrase,
and cancel the "What
features would you like to use?" dialog. Try
again
--- it works for me
at this point.

Still bloody annoying, because you can't tell
until
the sync fails that
it's not worked; in my case, it never asks to
transfer an entry on the
P800, so the sync fails.
