Are you sure you can access bluetooth from J2ME? I've only looked at Nokia handsets myself, but there was no bluetooth access from Java.

Sounds to me like you'd just want a simple serial (RFCOMM) connection. My app uses these are they're pretty easy to setup.
I can provide some sample code if you like, but I'd check on the bluetooth connectivity within the j2me virtual machine on the T610 first.
