POSIX API seems to work.

If our customers edit their Bluetooth serial ports or our applications use
the 'Bluetooth-modem' port it should do:
Mac OS X > System Preferences > Bluetooth > Devices > Edit Serial Ports;
with option click for none-SPP/DUN based profiles. 'Bluetooth-modem' port is
linked to DUN of last paired device, for which "Access the Internet" was
selected in the Apple Bluetooth Assistant while pairing. Detecting Rosetta:

universal_binary_exec_a/chapter_7_section_7.html

By the way even a simple call like IOBluetoothLocalDeviceGetPowerState
returns an error code. I would *guess* the IOBluetoothHCIUserClient is the
culprit. Or is it my fault again? What size has 'BluetoothHCIPowerState'?
Nothing in the headers. Here on PowerPC it is an UInt16. What is it on
Intel...
