Apple Bluetooth Profiles

Hi from Dwayne,

Before I ventured too far, I wanted to ask if Apple Bluetooth profiles are in hardware or software?

Basically I want to write a small program to make a Mac (Laptop) look like a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. This will allow syncing with vehicles with Bluetooth Headset technology built-in which will then allow laptop to vehicle address book synchronization.
