Jeff,
The USB device definitely overrides the internal one because a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse which are paired with the internal device stop working when the USB one is connected.
Once re-paired with the USB device (which has a different MAC address as you'd expect), the mouse, made by Trust, works fine but the Apple keyboard works for a bit then disconnects, then reconnects and works for a bit longer etc... Not a big problem for me as they don't get used much, and work fine with the internal Bluetooth device which starts working again when the Belkin is disconnected.
The Belkin model number is F8T012.
To anyone, I'd still be glad for some info on how to manually manipulate pairing between devices, e.g. info on where pairing details are stored. Alternatively I am wondering the Apple Broadcom USB driver open source, if so info on where it is held would be great (I've looked under OS 10.4.9 at opensource.apple.com, it isn't there), |'d like to have a try at getting it working with the Belkin, since it is almost working with it.
Tim.
Hi Tim,
So when you have the adapter activated, do you disable the internal bluetooth? Just wondering if you may be having a conflict between the two? Can't say that I've tried manipulating the .plist before, but would be interested in hearing about your solution.
I similarly have a Mini, but have found the built-in range less than adequate. Not looking to tie up a USB port, but if that Belkin adapter works, I may need to give it a shot.
(Is it me or is this list very quiet? I wasn't expecting 100s of messages, but haven't seen anything posted since I signed up a few days ago.)
