Automatically change the bluetooth name?

Hello,
is there a way to change the bluetooth name in OS X from an
application? By "bluetooth name" I mean the string that other
bluetooth devices can obtain by doing a bluetooth inquiry and
resolving the bt-address to a name.
It can be done manually by changing it at System Preferences -->
Sharing --> Computer Name but can it also be done using the Bluetooth
API or from the command line?
I already found out that the information about the name is stored in
the file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
(the key is "ComputerName"). However, changing the name and restarting
blued doesn't seem to have any impact, the actual bluetooth name
didn't change in my tests.
Any ideas about that?
Thomas
