Bluetooth GPS Resource Busy

Hello,

I have a question related to some development I am doing with Widgets and Bluetooth.  I am looking to write a small program that can track a users location and update that information on a widget with google maps.

I am able to successfully establish a connection with my device on the command line by issuing :

cat /dev/cu.BT-GPS-35F829-BT-GPSCOM-1

The issue is that I have noticed that when I stop reading through the CAT command that it often leaves the resource /dev/cu.BT-GPS-35F829-BT-GPSCOM-1 in a hung state.  Subsequent requests to the device respond back with "Resource Busy".

My question would be is there a way that I can clear a Busy Resource via a terminal command?  When this issue happens now the only way I can find to free it up is to reboot the device...obviously not the best way to handle the situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
