This sounded promising, but unfortunately replacing -closeConnection
with -destroyConnection doesn't seem to make any difference. That is,
the device can still enter a state where a connection can neither be
made nor closed (and PacketLogger still reports "ACL connection
already exists" upon attempting to open a connection while in this
state.)

Thanks for the suggestion though.
