Hello, I am working for a company that wants to make an accessory device which can send and receive data to/from the iphone.

I do not know where to start ...

I am reading the design guide here:
http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/BluetoothDesignGuidelines.pdf

And I see no mention of the bluetooth serial port profile, so I assume it is not supported?  How then do we create a device that can connect to an iphone, and send arbitrary data?
