Pairing BTLE with just one device?

  • Subject: Pairing BTLE with just one device?

Hi folks,

I'm curious what's the recommended method for creating a closed pair between a BTLE peripheral and an iOS device?

For example, if I have a BTLE blood pressure cuff or home appliance I'd like to be able to pair each device with my phone when they first arrive. But if my next door neighbor happens to have the same app and walks down the hall I'd like to either not show them the service advertisement or not allow them to access to the characteristic values.

All the Core Bluetooth examples I've seen so far deal with straight up pairing with no authentication or a way to secure access to the service.

Any ideas or pointers appreciated.

Thanks,
Ramin
