Hello everyone,
one of our clients would like to develop a custom bluetooth device that interacts with an iOS app we are working on, sending very simple information. As long as we have almost no experience in creating custom bluetooth devices nor in developing complex bluetooth apps, I've a few questions I hope someone could answer.
1. The working scenario of the app is pretty straightforward: it will run in background receiving simple messages every time one of the buttons on the bluetooth device is triggered, will store some information and then send a message back to the device when the operation is complete. Is there a standard bluetooth protocol I can implement in the bluetooth device that allows this kind of communication and at the same time won't require me to register the device to the MFI program but still work with not LE devices ?
2. In case I need to register the bluetooth device to the MFI program, how do I test if the device is working properly ? Do I need to wait for the device to be approved or is there a way to allow it to communicate with a test iOS app before the approval ?
Thanks a lot,
Gabriele
