I've filed a new BLE bug report 11735496 on iOS 6 beta 1.
I thought I would post it here out of general interest, and of course I would be interested to hear if anyone else has encountered the same issue I've seen. Here's a quick description of the bug:
CBPeripheral occasionally calls delegate method peripheral:didDiscoverCharacteristicsForService:error: with service.characteristics set to NULL. Expected value is array of CBCharacteristics. No error is reported. Once the problem is observed, the new caching behavior of iOS 6 means the value is often locked in and not rediscovered over the air.
