I may have misunderstood you but with MAP you can get stuff out of the iOS device but sending proprietary messages is not possible. For the latter you would need a plain RFCOMM connection and that is possible only with MFi compliance.

Thanks for the feedback everybody!

I have searched for MAP and iOS, but I cant find anything relevant. There should be a way to send raw strings to the connected bluetooth device.
