CBPeripheralManager on Mac

Hi,
is there a way to use a Mac as a Peripheral?

I know that there is no CBPeripheralManager implementation on Mac, but I was wondering whether it's a lack in the framework or the hardware on a Mac is not capable of acting as a Peripheral.

Can anyone point me to some documentation?
