Well, Apple has been extra cautious with what applications can do and what not. E.g. an app cannot even read text messages or emails. MAP at least allows this. IMHO there is little chance they would change their mind about the sending policy. Conformance is another thing: the English language allows for weaker expressions if that is needed without sacrificing the original message. This is what marketing people do the best. :)

Thanks for the response.  I had reviewed that thread as well.  The only reference to not being able to send is user experience and some notes on the Toyota web site concerning their car kit.  I'm hoping to find some official word from Apple regarding any limitations.

As noted, the Bluetooth MAP specification is available here:

Page 37 of the specification lists mandatory versus optional features. For an MSE device (such as the iPhone), the message uploading feature is mandatory.  In my reading, Apple cannot claim conformance to Bluetooth MAP in iOS6 without supporting this feature, so there should be some way to make this work.
