Invalid characteristics

I get this a lot:

2013-07-25 15:26:01.430 MyAPp[92898:c07] CoreBluetooth[WARNING] <CBConcreteCharacteristic: 0xca30b00> is not a valid characteristic for peripheral <CBConcretePeripheral: 0xca5ece0 UUID = <CFUUID 0xca5f800> A30A0A5F-2FDD-8161-A4CD-BA1175AE9816, Name = "Camera A002", IsConnected = YES>

But it's impossible for my code to determine this, right? I'm not sure how it happens. This is in the simulator.
