- Thread-topic: Self-connect possible?
I'm currently working on having the client be both central and peripheral and my earliest attempts actually seemed to point to that it is possible but the results were inconclusive. It seemed to work on the phone but not in the simulator.
It didn't detect itself but another device.
Currently I'm switching modes between central and peripheral with an interval and that works fine. The trick here is to manage the timing so clients don't miss detecting each other.
This project is open source and can be found here. https://github.com/Gliph/BTCSquared
I'm the maintainer and I will probably open it up for other contributors at a later stage.
Check it out. See if you can get this code to be both modes at the same time.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks,
Joakim

There are no stupid questions, right?
So: can the very same iOS device be peripheral and central at the same time?
Or more specific: can the peripheral server connect to a central client that is listening on the same device?
If yes: is there a code example? If not: why?
