Thanks for your response. Indeed, reflecting this information back through a characteristic could be a possibility, but in my precise case I don't want to rely on a peer for giving me my own UUID. I guess I just had hoped that there would be an attribute UUID exposed in the CBCentralManager and CBPeripheralManager classes. Anyway, thanks for your help, I will try to find a workaround and do what I need differently.

The UUID is generated by the central for itself. You can send it back from the central to the peripheral if you create a corresponding characteristic and implement the writing logic on the central side. However, the UUID will be different on each central.

Is there an easy way for an iOS peripheral to know its own UUID or for a iOS central to know its own UUID when connected?
