Stability issues with BLE?

We have developed an app that listens to BLE advertisements from a custom HW device and passes the data along to a web service.
Everything works pretty much as expected, but we have now encountered some odd problems. After a very long time (we are talking about days) the iPads that are running the SW stop reporting in data and after this point, when a new device is activated in the vicinity of the iPad it does not show up in the GUI of the App as it should.
Restarting the app does not help to restore the BLE discovery functionality, the only way to get it functional again is to restart the iPad. It would appear that the entire BT-stack is disabled for some reason.
Has anyone seen any similar issues and if so is there a way to work around this?
This has only been seen out with the customer so far, since we have not run the device for that long periods of time during the debug (it has been seen after 4-5 days of continuous use).
