Did the disconnect happen in a coordinated, clean way? Do other applications suffer from the same issue? Is is possible to connect to other devices while this situation is active?
It would also be good to check the system log for CB messages. Maybe check the connection with a sniffer to see if anything is happening at all.
Sorry, I have only more questions, not an answer but checking out these may help.
