Bluetooth 4 LE on MacPro5,1, how ?

Hi all,

Just joined this list, forgive me if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find much with google...

I have a MacPro5,1 and it does not support Bluetooth 4 Low Energy. I bought a little USB thingie, specifically this one:

<http://www.rocketek.hk/plus/view.php?aid=130>

and Bluetooth Explorer.app (4.3.0) does indeed see it in Tools>HCI Controller Selector and lets me switch to it. But after switching, going to Devices>Low Energy Devices shows "CBCentralManager state: Powered Off". My own code gets the same result.

Can this thing be made to work? Or a similar device from someone else? Surely I don't need to buy a whole new Mac?!

Thanks,
