Hi there,

We also have an app that listen to devices that change their advertisement data every few seconds.  

We found that on IOS 8.1.2, the UUID of those devices will change after restarting the iPhone.  For other devices that their advertisement data remain constant, the same UUID could be seen after iPhone restart.

On IOS 8.1.1, same UUIDs could be seen after iPhone restart.

We tested on iPhone 5s.

Do you see similar behavior?  
Is this a bug with IOS 8.1.2?
Shouldn't we suppose to see the same UUID (on the same iphone) for the same BLE device with same MAC address?

I think Chris' code worked in iOS7. There were some changes in Core Bluetooth for iOS8.

Outside of that, you might want to try nesting the code to cancel the scan within the call back:

-centralManager.didDiscoverPeripheral.

The other thing to try is to make sure you haven't connected to the peripheral and not store it. Let it get deallocated. 
Also, check to make sure that you don't have an existing pairing with the device in Bluetooth Settings.

it seems it is the device issue. My guess is that the device may do some thing after changing the advertising data. For your device, when the advertising data is changed, what else is modified?
