Hi all,

When the iOS device is operating in peripheral mode and central mode at the same time, is it possible to discover self in the scanning?

Note that you cannot connect to your own device even if it acts as a peripheral.

From this post, I feel it implies it's possible to discover the device itself. But I tried many methods, none works.

An iOS device uses a single antenna for transmitting and receiving (not only for BT, but it is also shared for wifi). It can be in one state at a time, but not both. This means that when it's transmitting it will never have an opportunity to listen for its own transmissions. Likewise, when it's receiving it won't be able to simultaneously transmit to itself.

Now perhaps if you were in a very echo-y room....

I found the transmitting power of the iOS device as peripheral changed over time. I am looking for methods to model the changes. Scanning itself seems a feasible way to get the transmitting power.

Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :)
