canSendWriteWithoutResponse not working

I’m just trying to get this new property working to send firmware updates to a
peripheral. It seems like the value of this property is always NO, and
peripheralIsReadyToSendWriteWithoutResponse is never called in iOS 11 GM. Has
anyone managed to get this working?
