Car Bluetooth not recognised as "car"

I've noticed that some iOS features like the reminders for "Getting in/out
of the car" or the "Parking position on maps" doesn't work on my kinda new
(2015) car, a Volkswagen Passat.

Is this an issue with the bluetooth class or supported features the car
bluetooth reports to the device?

How dose iOS classify a BT device as a car?
