Charles,

If you can at all deal with using the OS sans Help Viewer for a little while longer, I'd really appreciate it. If you reinstall, we won't be able to collect any more debugging information from you!

If you can manage, please wait for DTS to contact you with a request for more information (all this is done through the bug that you filed yesterday).

Thanks!

Oh, yeah! I'm getting rusty here. We did fix a bug, back in May, that
caused Help Viewer to crash, and that bug was exacerbated by adding more
help books to your system.

Chuck, it may turn out that the bug you filed (which I've seen
already -- thanks) is a duplicate of that. What system are you running?

I'm running the latest 10.0.4 + latest developer tools on 500 G4 with 568M Memory

Deleting ~/Library/Documentation/Help/ didn't help (no pun intended)

Looks like it's time to reload the OS...

I had the same problem and I deleted the files(aliases) in

Worked for me, at least as far as I can remember/

The problem I ran into is that after trying to get my application
to see the help files (Using Andy Stone's MacTech article)

The ENTIRE Help Viewer system quit working.. No matter what
application
I try and get help for, I get the error.

"The application Help Viewer has unexpectedly quit"

(no kidding.. I didn't even get a chance to TELL it to quit :-) )

No messages to the console.. (Though you can't even ask console for
help...)

The Life Preserver justs bounces a few times and the it dies..

So.. I give, what file's do I need to delete to get it working again?

Thanks

chuck
