Actually, I am of the opinion that Steve J has thrown his buddy and fellow
board member Larry E a bone and given Oracle what they need to clone EOF.
Somewhere in the deal we were sold down the river.

The Oracle i9 server looks astonishingly like EOF/WebObjects in Java. Their
xml model file very closely resembles the files EOModeler produces.

In fact, if I were to consider doing a new web app on Oracle, I'd use
Oracle's application server - why not? The support will probably be better.

This is pure speculation BTW, but no other explanation makes any sense.
