Unfortunately the OutlineView example is a bit messy - but I managed to
grab some useful code out of it a while ago, so you might too.
I haven't had much luck with ScrollViews myself, but if you need more
help with OutlineViews after looking at these snippets - and Erik's - I
can send you more code examples from my humble library.
