I had trouble with the finder "picking up" that I'd changed the icon.
Took a reboot to get it to be used by the finder.

Not sure what the best "trick" is to get the finder to notice the change. In previous Mac OS versions, Get Info; copy &paste the icon in the get info window worked well to get the finder to notice the change. There were other silly ways to get this to work also.

I tried to change the icon file in several applications by creating only the thumbnail. all other resolutions should be dynamically created as needed.

this works fine in the finder. but as soon as i start the application it display a generic application icon in the dock.

can anyone tell me what's the cause for this behaviour? what do i have to do to display the correct icon in the dock?

to make the whole scenario even a bit more weird... all alert-panels in the running application show the correct icon!

thanks for any hint,

thomas.

p.s. is there a simple way to change the icon in a dockling? (simple means without coding it...)
