The OSX version of the tool will be making an appearance in an upcoming release of the Developer Tools; have no fear! That one doesn't depend on type and creator being set.

And I also found why the indexing wasn't working. I created my HTML files
using OSX. silly me! So they didn't have any file type and creator type.
Apparently the indexer tool doesn't recognize file extensions... It's time
to carbonize! as we heard numerous times at WWDC.
