Thank you all for your help on this topic. Each message, each re-read of the relevant and not-so-relevant portions of the docs and each attempt at doing what you said performed an NSAffineTransform on my mind until it was aligned well enough for me to understand and use what John C Randolph said in the first place. I finally have managed to display a rotated image - it's not quite doing what I want it to yet, but it's rotated, and I think I can figure the rest out myself. :^) I'm really getting to like Cocoa - the documentation isn't as good as it could be, but it's still very useful and at least I have all these real people to help me if I don't understand it.
