Not just functions; blocks, rather.

Or you can try the original NeXTStep Edit.app for awhile, since it
implemented this feature *QUITE* nicely:
[demime 0.98b removed an attachment of type image/tiff which had a name of Edit.tiff; x-unix-mode=0644]
It is one of great NeXTStep features which alas disappeared (this one
