From the thread of "Docs" (and others i am sure) it became evident that
some people wanted a website that offers more/different stuff to the
sites that are out there right now.
And so CocoaWorks is born.
http://www.sketchwork.com/cocoa
(and depending on how busy it becomes, it will probably move to its own
server eventually).
The site is an organized discussion board, with several categories (that
seemed most logical to me at the time) to help organize the threads.
Should you have any ideas or suggestions on new categories, or
modifications to the ones that are there, let me know.
Also on the site:
1. Code and Tutorials area. This part will contain code snippets
collected from the web, user submissions and mailing lists that show how
to use certain functions to solve common problems. The tutorials will be
in depth features on how to make cocoa work. All submissions are
appreciated. Also, all submissions will be checked to the best of my
ability to make sure they work. Since i am a fairly novice programmer of
cocoa, if i can make them work - so can you. (also to be posted here are
source codes from the user's own projects).
2. API Tree. This will be a full tree of all major API's and a brief
description of what they do.
3. Links. links to other major sites and information utilities.
What I am looking for from users:
1. POST! the more you post, the faster the site will grow more
informative, accurate and useful.
2. Contribute code examples, snippets and tutorials if you have them. On
the tutorials, if you can write the code, but not explain it well, I
will be happy to coloborate with you to turn your snippets into full tutorials.
3. Admins needed. Since most people on this list know more about cocoa
than me, I will need people who can help administer the posts and
correct/verify the information there. Let me know what specialties you
folks have and if you would like to help out.
So log on to
http://www.sketchwork.com/cocoa and let me know what you think.
