Oh yeah, and another thing...
I'm putting together a diagram view of my outline. Kinda like a "Mind
Map". If I could, I'd steal part of the shape code in OmniGraffle.
Shapes containing text branching out and connected by lines. Each shape
should be selectable, double clickable, editable and conditionally
draggable. Oh, and they might do something on mouse enter/exit, but
that might be gratuitous.
So, as I'm thinking about this, I'm trying to grok NSView vs NSCell. My
initial impressions are that one should really use an NSCell when one
has lots of the same sort of UI object displayed on-screen, such as in a
browser or a table. NSView are more fully featured, but in turn are
more heavyweight.
Right now, I have some things working with NSViews, but I'm worried that
if I work with a document that might have over 100 shapes visible, not
to mention wanting to scroll around and zoom in and out, the NSView
might be far too clunky... Should I start playing with NSCells
instead? Just trying to get the basic patterns under my hat.
