OK, I tried Sherlock. It says of my Mac OS X disk:

"Can't index this volume. Add folders and index them."

So I added ".../System/Library/Frameworks/" and it
says:

"Can't index this folder. You don't have write
priviledges"

Damn Unix file protections!
