Just look in the NSTabView docs. The constants for accessing left, right
and bottom tabs are already defined. But they also say it is not yet
supported.

In its WWDC presentation, the GUI WWDR Manager told the audience that
you could have Tab Panes top, bottom, left, right in both Cocoa and
Carbon.
You can watch and hear this on WWDC DVD 1 :-)
