Yes, screw good design. It's content that matters. There was a horror
story Quark suffered when it went from 16-bit to 32-bit code. All
their code was 100% C, cross platform, ANSI strict. Yet when they
went to 32-bit addressing, their code was so locked into 16-bit
addressing, they had to rewrite a large amount of it.
Of course, that's just the story. Purple Monkey Dishwasher.
