I am confident that Apple will make its decisions in large part on the basis
of the substance of the petitions, not only on the number or identity of the
people who signed (or didn't). I would even go so far as to say that I hope
the substance will far outweigh the number or identity of signers, because
there are lots of us who don't sign petitions, in any event.
I say this, because, awful as forgery is, it seems to me a little
exaggerated to suggest that the petitions are entirely compromised. They do
still have their merits, or lack thereof.
